The second STV Tech Talks event is happening in June. Again we've got two talks lined up.
ElasticSearch: Introduction and Lessons Learned by Dougal Matthews
ElasticSearch is a full text search engine based on Apache Lucene. It’s the new kid of the block and competes with other projects like Apache Solr. This talk will provide an introduction to ElasticSearch, the community around it and the lessons learned when working with ElasticSearch create a search index several terrabytes in size and hundreds of millions of documents in a multitude of languages and character sets.
An Introduction to Go by Kev McDermott
An introduction to Google's Go language with a brief overview of syntax, and a look at some of the secret sauce that makes Go interesting
As before, there will be beer and pizza provided. The event is free, though you'll need to register ahead of time. We'll kick off at 6:30pm prompt. We hope to see you there!
