On Thursday 4th August at 10am CodeBase will be hosting an Equate Scotland workshop on Unconscious Bias.

Women and girls have the skills and aptitudes needed to thrive in tech, yet remain grossly underrepresented. The industry need these skills, along with the new ideas and problem solving that flourish in diverse groups. In particular, unconscious bias can play a huge role in both the work environment and recruitment practices. Identifying and tackling unconscious bias is therefore a great first step to a more diverse workforce.

This one-hour workshop supports participants to reflect on the unconscious biases we all hold and the assumptions we sometimes make. It explores how these may impact on our interactions and decision-making processes and suggests strategies for recognising and counteracting bias in the workplace. This session is relevant for all staff, and may be of particular interest to managers.
