The Docker Edinburgh meetup takes place at Codebase, in their Event Space, which is accessible from the entrance on 38 Castle Terrace. The Meetup will run from around 18h30 to 20h00, with further discussion afterwards in the pub! Cloudsoft will be sponsoring the meetup, and pizza and beer will be provided.

Please let us know what sort of speakers or topics you would like to see at future Meetups, or if there are alternative formats like lightning talks that would prefer.

Adrian Mouat - Docker: What, Why and What For

Adrian will give an introductory talk on Docker, covering what it is, why it exists and what it is being used for. There will be a short demo, which may also require appeasement of the demo gods...

Radek Ostrowski - Intro to the Amazon EC2 Container Service (ECS)

ECS has been production-ready a few months now, and is a yet another solution for Docker orchestration. It might be more tempting than other options particularly if your organisation is already running in AWS.

Radek will go through the basic concepts of ECS including a demo of setting up a service stack like Apache Kafka. Radek hopes to appease the Demo Gods so all runs smoothly (this time!) :) There will be time for a community discussion of the service and where we see it going.
