Our regular Mobile Dev Meetup event!
The event will be hosted at the NN4M office and there will be pizza and beer provided.
We'll be welcoming people into the office from around 6.30. There'll be plenty of time to network and get to know the other members in the community around the talks. There'll also be time before the talks to have introductions and any notices regarding team ups, projects, recruitment etc.
Topics can be more technical with a focus on app development or more focused on the business/monetisation side. The event will cater to app development in general but if the content of an event will be more platform-specific we will try to announce this as early as possible to ensure you sign up for the events most relevant to you.
The event should be over by around 9.
Speakers:
Valentin Hinov - RxWhat?
About me: I'm the Technical Director at Rockspin, a small studio where we work on our own apps. I got hooked on making apps since I first bought an Android phone and have been at it ever since. When Swift came along I started paying equal attention to both sides of the mobile world. I'm always searching for new ideas in the mobile dev sphere and how they can help better architect apps.
About the Talk: RxWhat? - introduction to asynchronous programming with observable streams. Functional Reactive Programming has been gaining a lot of steam in the past couple of years. You may have heard of ReactiveX and it's implementations in RxJava or RxSwift but what is it really? In this talk I hope to introduce you to what programming using observable sequences is and, more importantly, how it can help your everyday life as a developer. The beauty of ReactiveX is that it's the same idea implemented in multiple languages so this will be relevant even if you're not a mobile dev.
