This seminar will be a timely opportunity to examine the key commercial and policy issues for gambling in the UK, focusing particularly on the growth of the online sector and associated technology.
With a new Parliament, delegates will discuss the future of policy on levies and on the regulation of Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs). Sessions will also consider key areas for growth within the sector, particularly online and through mobile, and regulatory harmonisation in light of possible effects on the sector throughout Europe of the EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive. The agenda will also bring out latest thinking on social impact, following steps undertaken by policymakers and industry in relation to FOBTs and aggressive marketing practices, with delegates assessing progress and the effectiveness of steps taken to help vulnerable groups, particularly those struggling with addiction, and further options for policy and industry practice.
