Legal and IP Issues for App Developers

The University of Glasgow and Mewburn Ellis invite you to a seminar about intellectual property (IP) and legal issues for app developers, hosted in Level 5 of the Sir Alwyn Williams Building.

This seminar will examine some of the key issues app developers may wish to consider when creating and commercialising apps and will give you some key advice on what you can do now to maximise your app's potential and ensure you have the right IP and legal protection in place.
The presentations will cover the possible “registerable IP” that might arise from a new app (i.e. patents, designs & trade marks) and the “unregisterable IP” (copyright, knowhow and confidential information) and exploiting the IP in an App. Mewburn Ellis will also cover how app development might infringe the intellectual property rights of others and how to minimise the risk of infringement and your rights as a co-developer of shared intellectual property.
