Front End Sheffield: February 2023 - Design systems / How to easily transition from web developer to game developer

We're back for 2023 in a new venue and - for just this month - on a Wednesday.

Our new venue is: Charles Street Building (Room 12.4.12) - Sheffield Hallam University.
120 Charles St, Sheffield, S1 2NE, England

You'll need to sign-in at the security desk, but look for FES signs up into the lift and the 4th floor.

This is just around the corner from our old venue at Sheffield Tech Parks. We're moving so that less of you have to end up on the waitlist. We thank STP for their support throughout our time with them.

This month: Dan Donald and Richard Bray.

Our event is free and inclusive; we welcome people of all backgrounds and experience levels to join. We will be checking in people at the door so be sure to sign up online.

Before you attend, please read our code of conduct: bit.ly

Richard Bray - How to easily transition from web developer to game developer

It's never been easier to make a computer game. In this talk, I'm going to tell you how possible it is to use tools you already know as a web developer, Ecmascript, NPM and VSCode, to build a truly cross-platform game. One that works on the web, desktop, mobile and on game consoles.

Post-meetup social
After the talks we'll head to socialise at the nearby Triple Point Brewery + Bar. They serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, plus food from Twisted Burger Co. See triplepointbrewing.co.uk for more details.
