Computing for the Soul: positive personal stories about technology

Hello, and welcome back! This will be a one-off event for the Sheffield Tech Community to meet in-person and share the experiences that helped us through the last 18 months.

We're looking for talks on any technology or practice that held your interest, improved your life, or brought your community together. Don't worry about solving the world's problems - this is about your own experience and looking at technology through an optimistic lens.

The format will be unconference-style: you will decide the agenda. If you'd like to present something, please prepare a 10-20 minute talk - slides optional - and we'll post these on a board at the beginning of the event. You're also very welcome to just attend and listen.

The topic is broad to make it easy to participate, but if you're unsure about your talk, I'm happy to discuss your idea before the event. Fear not, if it comes from your own experience and has a positive spin then it's on-topic!

Afterwards, you are welcome to join your fellow attendees in a trip to a nearby pub.

I've intentionally chosen an optimistic date based on feedback from potential attendees. Clearly, if circumstances change substantially, I may have to cancel or postpone it. I'll give you as much notice as possible if that's the case, and it will not change to a virtual event.

I look forward to seeing you!
