EdLambda #2 - Intro to Functional Programming with Scala

Hey everyone! 👋

On Thursday 8th April, EdLambda is back for round 2 of our virtual meetups!!

Are you curious about Functional Programming but don't know where to start?

This talk will give a great introduction to Functional Programming with Scala talk. Keir Lawson, from Kaluza, will give an overview of the Scala language before delving in to how the Cats library can allow us to build purely functional applications that can make solving traditionally complex programming tasks easy.

This talk is perfect for beginners but should also hold some interest for more experienced functional programmers curious as to how things are done in Scala!

The event will start at 6:00pm with a quick intro from the EdLambda's hosts, before getting stuck into Keir's talk. Feel free to bring along a beer, wine or cup of tea and get lost in the world of functional programming.

Thanks all! Please feel free to spread the word about this meetup on LinkedIn and Twitter!

About EdLambda

EdLambda is an Edinburgh group for people interested in functional programming which has been running since September 2010. We meet in the Outhouse pub on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7pm. There is usually a talk on a subject of interest to functional programmers, followed by chat and drink! EdLambda meetups are free events and everyone is welcome.
