For our March event, we have the always excellent Johanna Rothman joining us for a talk on managing yourself! Note: we're starting a little later than normal.
Title: Create Excellent Leadership When You Manage Yourself
Abstract: Have you seen any of these problems:
- Some manager says, “Don’t bring me a problem, bring me a solution.”
- Managers say, “Now that we’re agile, you’re all empowered.”
- Someone says, “Fred is indispensable. Fred calls the shots.” (With apologies to Fred.
If so, you've seen some of the problems when managers and leaders don’t manage themselves. If you’re a manager, you might not know you have alternatives, because you’ve only seen managers say these words. If you support teams or manager, you might feel powerless to change how other people talk. However, you have alternatives. Learn to create better conversations and more options for business agility.
When managers and leaders manage themselves, they can create an environment in which everyone can excel.
