Free workshops exploring live storytelling with new tech for 14-25 year olds
This January National Youth Theatre, Kurious Arts and alternate reality studio Megaverse are looking to discover a new generation of creative digital talent in South Yorkshire. Whether you’re a gamer, a performer, a designer, a digital specialist, artist or technician, these labs are for anyone interested in exploring how innovative new technologies like Virtual reality, volumetric capture and spatial audio can be used in theatre and live storytelling.
Enter a digital playground and learn how to 3D paint in a VR headset, shoot a 360 film and use cheap tech like Xbox Kinect sensors to create amazing live performances and experiences.
Join us to explore how to tell live stories using volumetric capture and virtual reality with Ben Carlin, founding director of immersive content studio Megaverse. Featuring live demo's of Flood an underwater VR adventure and Frankenstein, which will see 250 audience members in a theatre production of Frankenstein this autumn.
This is a FREE workshop and following the workshops there will be future opportunities to engage with National Youth Theatre's growing digital programme.
