    6.15pm - Creating Your Custom Infrastructure Testing DSL with PowerShell & Pester by Manfred Wallner (@schusterfredl)
    - Monitoring your servers (services, installed applications, network connectivity, ...) with Pester, running scheduled checks via TaskScheduler or Jenkins and generating fancy HTML reports.

  • The Scotland Data Science & Technology community are delighted to support CodeYourFuture community in Scotland. This event will provide information on how you could help as a volunteer.

    They are a non-profit organisation supporting refugees and disadvantaged individuals with the dream of becoming developers.

    In their journey of interrupted lives, unfinished studies and integration challenges, many of these individuals yearn to update their tech skills, but lack learning opportunities.

  • For our last event of the year, we'll be running a workshop on how to be effective while pair programming.

    You will learn:

    * The different styles of pair programming and the importance of switching
    * How to work with people of different levels and roles

    Don't worry if you've never pair programmed before. We'll be pairing people up to make sure every pair has what they need.

    The session will be theory and exercises, finishing with a real pair programming exercise. Please bring along your laptops!

  • "Why we need Data Architecture and data Governance."

    We are lucky to have some of the most advanced talks and presentations within Data Science and Machine Learning take place at our events. This talk will go into detail about the foundations that need to be put in place before we can sustain the most advanced techniques in Data Science.

    Aimed at absolute beginners. We'll show how to securely connect to a server then we'll work through Bandit, an adventure game set in the command line that progresses step-by-step from the basics to common programs and beyond.

  • Glasgow 2600 meetings are similar to those held around the world. Hackers, crackers, geeks, hats of any colour, technology enthusiasts, hacktivists, and other like-minded folks are most welcome. We do not judge anyone and everyone has something to contribute, no matter their level of expertise.

    Unless specified, there are no particular topics or activities set for these meetings, and each one of us is responsible for making them interesting, whether in the form of intelligent discussions or exchange of knowledge. Anything goes.
