As part of the International Hackerspace Open Day we're planning to run an all-day, free computer repair session in The Gamer Club - we'll also help install Linux if you want to give it a try.
If you or someone you know has a computer or laptop that needs a bit of TLC or a device that could get a new lease of life with a fresh install then let them know about this event and we can help get them set up.
We're also looking for volunteers to help others, either with repairs or installs so there will be a number of people on site on the day to help everybody out. Additionally if anybody has any small SSD drives they'd be willing to donate, they'd go a long way to helping upgrade some older laptops. -
Glasgow 2600 meetings are similar to those held around the world. Hackers, crackers, geeks, hats of any colour, technology enthusiasts, hacktivists, and other like-minded folks are most welcome. We do not judge anyone and everyone has something to contribute, no matter their level of expertise.

An excuse for a wee Friday night catch up over a beer or two. Note the venue is unlicenced, but you can BYOB (bring your own beer - it's encouraged!), though there are free teas and coffees too.
All welcome, from complete beginners to the more experienced users.
Come learn about what projects we've been working on or new technology we've been experimenting with. -
This event will show you how to get started creating basic 3D games. It will be more of a workshop format - I'll demo on a big screen and you'll be able to work alongside me as we show the ins and outs of the software and it's scripting language, GDScript, which is quite similar to Python.
We'll try to build a replica of Wolfenstein 3D from scratch. -
This event will show you how to get started creating basic 3D VR scenes/games. It will be more of a workshop format - I'll demo on my screen and you'll be able to work alongside me as we show the ins and outs of the software. It's easy to learn and experiment with as it's all based on Javascript and HTML.
We'll have some VR headsets so you can try out what you are creating in a proper virtual environment. -
