From 2006-2011 Smeaton was the CEO of Sumerian a specialist big analytics company deliverging analytics services into global Retail and Investment Bank clients. Prior to Sumerian, Smeaton was the CTO & Co-founder of Orbital Software which was listed on the LSE in 2000 prior to a merger with Sopheon PLC.
