Lean Agile Edinburgh: Programming for Non-Programmers - Amitai Schleier

Wonder what it's like to do what programmers do? Maybe people have tried to explain it, but didn't put it in terms that computed for you. Or maybe you would like to become more technical, but the mere thought of trying to code has felt intimidating.

Today is a new day! Join Amitai, a sometimes-programmer from the midwestern USA (where folks are relentlessly friendly), as we solve a problem by thinking and coding together. If you want to, you can take a brief turn at the keyboard; if not, no biggie. When we're done, we think you'll have a new kind of feeling about code and coding. You might even want to pursue it further.

Amitai Schleier (@schmonz) is a software development coach, legacy code wrestler, non-award-winning musician, and award-winning bad poet. He publishes fixed-length micropodcasts at Agile in 3 Minutes, writes variable-length articles at schmonz.com, and contributes code and direction to notable open-source projects such as NetBSD, pkgsrc, ikiwiki, and qmail. Amitai’s ideas, prose, music, and puns have manifested at Agile Roots, Agile for Humans, CodeMash, Self.conference, pkgsrcCon, Pittsburgh Perl Workshop, NYCBUG, the International Rachmaninoff Conference, and the Alfred Joyce Kilmer Memorial Bad Poetry Contest.
