Front End Sheffield: Initial Commit

Join us on the 25th January for the newly relaunched Front End Sheffield User Group based at Union St. Front End Sheffield is a bi-monthly event which alternates with Sheffield JS.

We'll be hosting a series of talks offering insights into fixing common accessibility issues and creating open and inclusive designs.

Our first talk is by Chad Gowler they will be showing us how to fix common accessibility issues with just HTML.

Chad is a human-computer interaction masters student at the University of York with a background of web development, most recently as a React developer for Sky. Their research focus is looking at how to improve take up of accessible development in organisations building upon their work experience. Outside of tech they give talks about mental health in technical teams, building software for gender inclusivity and is a recent convert to gaming in virtual reality.

Our second talk will be hosted by Helen Clark, talking about open and inclusive design and how to make it work for clients/stakeholders.

We will conclude the night with a Q&A and a trip to the pub for those who wish to join us after.

Our event is free and inclusive to all but we ask that you sign up online so we have an idea of numbers for the venue.
