Policy priorities for the water market in England and next steps for PR19
Morning, Thursday, 13th July 2017
Central London
THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

Guests of Honour
David Black, Senior Director of Water 2020, Ofwat
Stephen Almond, Deputy Head of Water Services, Defra (subject to Departmental business)

Supported by CH2M

Timed after the April 2017 launch of Open Water, the non-household water market, and due to follow the planned publication of Ofwat’s Price Review 2019 (PR19) methodology consultation, this seminar will be a timely opportunity to discuss the next steps for water market reform.

Planned sessions discuss market competition and opportunities for mergers and new entrants, and address potential early concerns for PR19 and opportunities for the sector. In light of reform to the non-household water market, delegates will discuss further opportunities for reform of the household market, and what more the sector can do for customers and to reduce costs. They will also assess key issues and challenges around the sustainability of UK water infrastructure, in particular resilience of the network to climate change and population growth, as well as the funding allocated to maintenance and future expansion of available resources.
