Edinburgh DevOps Meetup: Devops Meetup - 2 Feb

For the next meet up we have Andrew MacIntosh from G2G3 with a talk on applying behavioural simulations when to facilitate DevOps adoption.

We are looking for lightning talks (5 mins) to open. If you are interested in providing one please get in touch.

Andrew MacIntosh – Bio:

Andrew Macintosh came from the TV industry as a writer and director, before joining G2G3 as a communications consultant in 2011. He moved onto developing a range of highly successful engagement solutions that centered around IT organisational change and turning resistant staff into advocates for change. He became Creative Solutions Director in 2014 and now in charge of all client management at G2G3. Andy is widely regarded as an authority in cultural adoption over a wide range of methodologies and programs from DevOps & Cloud to ITIL, and has written on the behavioral science surrounding transformational change.

Talk Synopsis:

The Role of Simulations in Business:

Development teams and IT operations—who traditionally have worked in silos—must work together, integrate seamlessly and understand not only their roles and responsibilities within the new environment but also the roles and responsibilities of those around them.

But in making such a radical cultural shift, how do you ensure you change the mind-set of people who have been used to working in a certain way? How do you provide your people with the helicopter view of what that future state will be, instil in them your fervour for change and provide them with the understanding and motivation necessary to embrace new ways of working? How do you ensure everyone is rowing in the same direction? Because without that, the change—already difficult and challenging—will become impossible.

Andy will talk about the role simulations have in business and how the journey of change is addressed with behavioural science.
