CodeClan Info Session for Employers: Edinburgh, 15th December

CodeClan, Scotland's first accredited digital skills academy, was established in 2015 to make a real dent in the significant skills shortage in the digital industry in Scotland. This shortage is widely recognised as inhibiting Scotland’s economic development.

We were established by the industry, for the industry and benefited from a grant-in-aid from Scottish government to get us started.

Our aim is to train and upskill a new generation of programmers, delivering high-quality, job-ready, entry-level, developers to the tech industry throughout Scotland.

Meet the Clan

Join us at our next employer info session to find out more about CodeClan and how we can support your business growth. You'll get the chance to meet the CodeClan team and some of our students.

Who is this for

Employers who are finding it difficult to find the skills they need to maintain and grow their business
Employers who are interested in finding out about a new source of talent through CodeClan.

What you'll learn

How we teach & what we teach:

Our curriculum focuses on teaching the core principles of programming, using rigorous object-oriented techniques, based on test-driven development (TDD) aligned to agile principles.

We teach a wide range of languages fom Ruby, JavaSript and Java to web frameworks such as Rails and React. We also introduce agile methodologies, project and software design and development processes, and career preparation techniques.

Who our instructors are:

Our Senior and Lead instructors are all industry professionals and all teaching staff have completed the Level 3 Award in Education (AET) training course offered by City and Guilds.

Our instructional team are all passionate about coding and about instilling that into our curriculum and delivery, they also continue to work on software development projects as part of their time here.

About our students:

Our students are of an average age of 30 and have significant work and life experience. This coupled with their commitment in joining codeclan (over 80% give up a job and all pay for the training) makes them particularly interesting for employers.

Becoming an Employer Partner:

Being a CodeClan employer partner gives you privileged access to job-ready and highly motivated junior developers.

We carefully select and continuously challenge all of our students, providing a steady stream of talented graduates. Over four months of intensive learning, they have added brilliant coding skills to their existing passion for problem solving and the ability to work productively in a dynamic environment.

You’ll also have the opportunity to help shape how CodeClan grows and evolves in the future – as our mission is to meet employers’ digital skills needs now and in the future.
