Open Tech Calendar

This online meeting is for anyone with an interest in connected devices, IoT (Internet of Things) and data across the region, everyone is welcome. The theme for the meeting is ‘Thought Leadership in IoT’. We’re being joined by leaders in the IoT field, spearheading new R&D approaches and entrepreneurial activity to create new connected products and services.

Location: The meeting will be held online using the Blackboard Collaborate platform. After registering, you will be sent a link beforehand.

1:55PM - Frank McQuade, Director of Capability, Bloc Digital - ‘Visualising Digital Twins’ - With the ever-increasing amounts of data being generated by IoT systems and the advent of a new generation of XR devices, Bloc Digital has been exploring methods to simplify the creation of digital twins for visualisation using augmented and virtual reality devices. Bloc will present a short overview of the research currently being undertaken by the company and highlight the challenges faced.

2:35PM - Tanya Suarez, CEO of IoT Tribe (UK, SG) and BluSpecs (UK, ES) - ‘IoT and the technological continuum’ - Tanya brings her experience as founder of IoT Tribe, connecting startups and corporates to do business in IoT, AI and immersive technologies. She also runs BluSpecs, an innovation agency that helps companies stay relevant through customer-centred digital strategies and disruptive innovation. Tanya is a Board member of the Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI) and a Member of the European Innovation Council.
