By 2017 I had withdrawn and did not have much of a lif e plan beyond wanting to stay here in Edinburgh. It was then that a friend \, also an ex-philosopher\, began to talk to me about programming. Now I a m working as a backend developer\, learning data engineering on the job\, and studying part-time for a Data Science Masters.
