PHP Cambridge: How To Do A Positive Code Review

Meeting from 7pm for a 7:30pm

We'll be upstairs in the meeting room on the first floor.

Our sponsor, local digital agency Studio 24, is providing some free drinks. So head upstairs to find out how to get a drink and grab a beer/drink of your choice from the bar.

We also have a free copy of PHPStorm to give away, courtesy of our sponsor JetBrains.

How To Do A Positive Code Review

Do you dread code reviews? Do you dread running a code review? Do you find that they help, or simply find them a waste of time? Or maybe you simply find them a bit hit-and-miss?

The majority of folks in the PHP community don't have formal software engineering training, and they often don't have enterprise development experience, where code reviews are a common practice. That's a real shame, as code reviews are great for saving time and trouble when they're done positively.

After this talk, you'll go away armed with a three-point plan for running code reviews with your teams, and a whole heap of practices you can use to make sure your code reviews are something everyone wants to do.
