Breakfast Briefing - Remote testing

Most businesses online serve customers throughout the country or internationally, which presents a big challenge when trying to perform user experience research with them.

Fortunately in the past few years many solutions have made it possible to research user behaviour and opinions remotely, and we have applied many of these in our projects for clients.

In this Breakfast Briefing we will provide a practical overview of the types of remote research tools available and how to use them most effectively.

We will cover approaches in two categories:

• Remote moderated testing
• Remote un-moderated testing

For each one we will discuss when they are most appropriate, the types of results they offer, and the pros and cons of each approach. We’ll also offer some examples of how we have applied these on client projects and some practical tips and tricks for getting the most out of each approach.

The session will be presented by User Vision Director Chris Rourke and UX Consultant Alan Blackwood who has conducted many remote research projects.
