The Whisky Bond Summer party is a chance for you to try new skills, share a drink and enjoy the sun!

Various workshops throughout the day are followed by a BBQ and music.

2 – 6pm Fearsomengine
 ‘Mad Machine’
Family friendly
, drop-in on 3rd floor
Come and contribute to Fearsomengine’s ‘organically built moving beast’. Fearsomengine will be asking you to create a new Mad machine entirely as a group effort. What it becomes is up to you…

2 – 6pm Arduino & introduction to soldering with Blair Thompson

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult

 on 2nd floor
Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. The workshop will allow people an opportunity to build and use their own Arduino compatible microcontroller. 

It would be advantageous if participants bring their own laptop but not essential. Spaces are limited so booking essential contact hello@thewhiskybond.co.uk

2 – 5pm CycleHack
All ages
, drop-in on 3rd floor
This micro hack event will make you think about the barriers to cycling in a city and come up with innovative solutions, then take your idea to the next stage by creating prototypes & samples.

2 – 4pm Teepee textiles by Depot Arts
All ages
, drop-in in the garden
Hand printing textile workshop in a teepee for kids of all ages. Depot Arts will take you through a variety of printing styles including: block printing, stamping and stencilling.

2 – 6pm Brave New Now

All ages, drop-in in the Container in the garden

Following on from their Design Dinner, Show Me Yours are back to ask more questions. Come and collaborate through their communal drawing experience. You can also let them in on those secrets that you wished you knew by leaving a note on their insider knowledge wall.

3 – 5pm Expressive glassblowing with Siobhan Healy
Under 18′s must be accompanied by an adult
, drop-in on the ground floor
Siobhan will take you through the process of glass blowing and you’ll be able to create your own small glass pieces.

2 – 6pm FLUX
All ages
, drop-in on the 3rd floor

Flux will have an open studio and welcome people to drop in for demos in CNC and laser cutting. They’ve also made over-sized Connect 4 & JENGA for the garden.

2pm – 6pm Contribute
All ages, drop-in on the 3rd floor
Open Source is great; the free to use software and tools make it possible to create many of the amazing products we produce in Glasgow. But do you contribute? Pop into this session with some of the most talented developers in Glasgow on hand to help you get started contributing to Open Source Software. To contribute you’ll need to bring your own laptop, otherwise you can watch from the best.

12 – 4pm Creative Cargo (along the canal at Firhill Basin)

MOOD IS MADE / TEENAGES TAKE OVER workshop on Glasgow Sculpture Studios’ Creative Cargo barge. Moored at Firhill Basin (behind Partick Thistle FC) as part of Queens Cross Housing Gala Day at Firhill Complex, this workshop will be delivered by James McLardy and young people from Depot Arts.

5pm – CycleHack Screening on the 3rd floor

This hack will finish with the screening of their short documentary from their inaugural event.

4 – 9pm – BBQ’d delights by Piece in the garden

5 – 6pm – Live jazz

6 – 7pm – NITE TIDES – Performance

In Glasgow Sculpture Studios gallery on the ground floor.

A vocal performance from hausfrau accompanied by visuals from exhibiting artist Natalie McGowanas a response to Mood is Made, Temperature is Taken.

7 – 1am – Music from DJs:

Duncan Ballantyne (Tiger’s Milk Records) & Night Of The Jaguar
